Kanela & Garyfallo is a unique thematic restaurant devoted to mushrooms. Nestled on a rocky perch overlooking the entrance to Vikos gorge, the restaurant is located in the village of Vitsa in close proximity to many of the region\u2019s natural wonders and within a 30 minute drive to the city of Ioannina.<\/div>\n<\/div>[vc_empty_space height=”63px”][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1\/2″][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1627648111578{margin-top: -12px !important;}”]<\/p>\n

Housed in a 100-year old stone building once used as a film set, Kanela & Garyfallo\u2019 s cozy dining room features an open fireplace, refurbished furniture and elegant, yet unassuming, table settings. The ambiance is warm and friendly inviting guests to relax and enjoy a unique dining\u00a0 experience. \u00a0In warm weather, guests have the opportunity to enjoy their meal and the gorgeous view from our signature stone patio. Our wine cellar is small, displaying about 150 brands of wine from Greece as well as a few selected wines from major wine regions around the world.<\/p>\n

Owner and chef, Vassilis Katsoupas, first contracted the gastronomy bug in the renowned\u00a0\u00a0 \u2018Thraka\u2019 restaurant operated by his family for 35 years in Athens. Combining his environmental education and culinary culture, following a 16 year journey in Canada, Vassilis returned to his ancestral homeland and created a unique space dedicated to mushrooms, the treasures of the forest.<\/p>\n
