These days, 21 Masters of Wine from various parts of the world are visiting our region of Macedonia.
It is a great honor — not only for Macedonia but for all of Greece — to welcome individuals who, on a global scale, shape both the trends in the wine industry and the preferences of international consumers.
Having them explore our vineyards, meet our winemakers, and taste our wines is deeply meaningful.
But above all, what truly matters is that they will experience our hospitality, learn about our culture and heritage, discover the beauty of our homeland, and savor its unique culinary delights.
The journey began on Sunday, June 15, with a walk-around tasting in the presence of winemakers, a warm welcome from the president of the “Winemakers of Northern Greece”, Mrs. Eleni Sindou, a presentation of the region’s wine-growing identity by the representative of the Greek Wine Federation, Ms. Sofia Perpera, followed by a delightful dinner.
The visit will continue with explorations at selected wineries across Macedonia in Northern Greece.
This visit by the Masters of Wine is organized by the Greek Wine Federation, in collaboration with the Institute of Masters of Wine, with the invaluable contribution and personal dedication of Olga Karapanou Crawford MW and our association, the Winemakers of Northern Greece.
We extend our warmest thanks to Olympos Naoussa Restaurant for the excellent collaboration, attentive hospitality, and above all, the outstanding menu, we enjoyed — a true reflection of the multicultural cuisine of our city.
