Today, under Stellios Boutaris, fifth-generation winemaker, this vision evolves with clarity and purpose at both KIR-YIANNI Estates in Naoussa and Amyndeon in Northern Greece. From iconic Xinomavro to pioneering Assyrtiko in northern terroirs, KIR-YIANNI stands as a benchmark of modern Greek wine -driven by innovation, guided by the Kir-Yianni family heritage, and committed to sustainability as the only Greek winery member of IWCA (International Wineries for Climate Action).
Ktima Kir-Yianni owns vineyards in two of Greece’s most important wine regions: Naoussa and Amyndeon. Although only 90 min. driving time apart, these are two completely distinct terroirs, shaping the world of Kir-Yianni where geography becomes character, and diversity becomes expression. The estate undergoes one of the most pioneering and systematic investments in vineyard research, with ongoing experimentation (organic viticulture, soil health, old-vine preservation etc.) and a solid focus on sustainability and low CO2 emissions.

WINES
Ktima Kir-Yianni shares a strong bond with Xinomavro, having the privilege to work with the flagship red grape of Northern Greece on its grand terroirs of Naoussa and Amyndeon (PDO Naoussa and PDO Amyndeon). Alongside, the estate offers an exceptional range of high-altitude white wines headed by the mountainous expression of Assyrtiko grown on Amyndeon plateau.
THE VINEYARD
Naoussa is located on the southeastern slopes of Mount Vermio. The main estate vineyard spreads over a hilly diversified terrain at up to 280 m. altitude at the village of Yiannakori, with mountainous and mixed forest surroundings.
Ktima Kir-Yianni keeps delivering benchmark Xinomavro reds, like the iconic Ramnista, standing out for their complexity, structure and character. Alongside Yiannakohori, Ktima Kir-Yianni owns vineyards in nearby villages (Gastra, Arkohori, Gallika, Trilofos) within the PDO Naoussa zone.

NATURAL ENVIRONMENT

WINES

THE VINEYARD
Amyndeon is situated at the northwestern slopes of Mount Vermio at an average altitude of 600 m. The vineyard of Samaropetra, reaching 700+ meters altitude and neighboring NATURA 2000 Protected Area, as well as Palpo, Droumo and Rasto are a few of the most renowned vineyards of Ktima Kir-Yianni that spread over many villages of the region (Agios Panteleimonas, Xino Nero, Petres, Lakkia, Amyndeon, Fanos). The conditions met on this stunning plateau offer to the estate’s wines intense aromas, high acidity and elegance -reds, rosés, whites and sparkling wines.

NATURAL ENVIRONMENT
It is located on the shores of Lakes Vegoritida and Petron, on the plateau defined by the mountains Vermio, Vorras (Kaimaktsalan) and Vitsi. At the same time, there is an influence from the two smaller lakes Zachari and Chimaritida.
CLIMATE
Mild continental – the cooler wine region of Greece. Notable diurnal temperature range. 4 lakes work as stabilizers of average air temperature.
